Her dress was simple but elegant in lengths of soft fabric that slithered around her ankles as she moved. The top was conventional, fitted and flattering but the jewel at her throat, large red and glittering, was the stand-out piece. Skarlet had put in the time to make herself lovely, and when she greeted the cowboy she did so with a smile of appreciation for his own effort. And the scent that she caught soon after that brought so many memories to her mind.
